kept 2002 White Hope Champion Ross Edgar at bay in the handicap sprint.

Doug Williams (Halesowen) had tried a brave escape but was consumed
by the pack and the win went to Matthew Crampton.

Tony Gibb broke away from the pack to pick up loads of points and won
from Tyler Farrar (USA). Bradley Wiggins led the charge back to Tony Gibb
and Wiggins crossed the line first, but the points were in Gibb's pocket.

6 - SCCU Good Friday Centenary Pursuit
Paul Manning stepped in for David Millar who was injured and he pressured
the winner Bradley Wiggins to take 2nd. Stuart O'Grady was a major star
on the day and he avoided being caught by Bradley Wiggins by a whisker
when the gun went to signify race end.

powered around to win at an amazing rate, but for the 1st time in many
years no one was eliminated.

Speed, goodness it was fast and the final laps saw Bradley McGhee, Stuart
O'Grady and Chris Newton go side by side and wheel to wheel as they crossed
the line 3 abreast. O'Grady taking it by a fraction.

Tony Gibb, Chris Newton and local man Dominic Hill featured in a three
man break.
Despite getting
the most support Dominic Hill, the local man, played a strong role until
his legs gave way on the last lap and he took 3rd from Gibb and Newton.

22 - Golden Wheel Scratch race 44.5 laps
Chris Newton led a 'royal' break, but missing from the escape group was
Bradley Wiggins, Sean Yates, James Taylor and Russell Williams who then
worked hard to bring them back.
Bradley Wiggins
led the chase and his quality was very evident when he rode across to
the break. Newton tried one last time to win but was caught on the last
lap and Stuart O'Grady celebrated his win.
This was
the best track race we have ever seen and crowd's wall thumping was top
class.
